A passion for running

I have a passion for running…

I passionately hate running!

I hate running.

I used to like running.

I’m not going to say I loved running, but I used to like running.

I used to enjoy the feel of the road beneath me. The long hours of solitude. The bittersweet cold crisp air.

It was beautiful.

Now it’s a different story.

It’s my feet flapping on the ground, I’m alone, and I’m cold.

I don’t know when it happened, I don’t know how it happened but for some reason I can’t get into running.

Today was a simple 5 miles. 5 miles on a route that I’ve done a bazillion time. It’s easy; it flows; I enjoy every mile.

Not today. Today and the last few days have been anything but easy.

I know this will pass. I know that I’ll enjoy the lonely road again.

But in the meantime…I’m passionate!

Maybe new music or a new route would help make it fun again? Way to stick to your plan even with all that churn going against you! That kind of mental/emotional toughness will help you on ironday!

Good luck changing that passion back to a good thing! Give it time - it'll work out. And you know that.

Good luck!!

Might be time for a new route. Maybe find a trail someplace and leave your watch behind. Just enjoy the time outdoors.

I think Borsch may be right. A new route might do wonders.

(OTOH, so might signing up for B2B :-)

I know what you need! You need a marathon to train for! Perhaps a marathon in California, with hills and beautiful scenery!

Wait, I think I know of one in April called Big Sur!

Oh and I vote trail running. Slower, but much prettier and good for the kneesies!
